ADJUSTABLE CLIPPERS: Not all clippers have an adjustable blade. If you have a deluxe adjustable clipper, the following instructions apply to your clipper. The adjustable clippers have a blade that enables you to cut hair at various lengths. To adjust: move thumb blade adjusment lever down for coarse cutting and up for fine cutting. After continued use, the top and bottom blades may wear out. Replacement blades are available through your nearest Authorized service station. TO remove the blades, unplug the clipper form the eletric outlet. LAy the unit upside down on a flat, dry surface. Remove the two screws located in the bottom of the blade. To replace blades, put the new top blade into postion on the clipper head. Make sure the adjustment lever is pushed downward. Line up the new bottom blade so that the screw holes in the bottom blade are directly over the two center screw holes in teh mounting plate. Replace the screws adjust the position of the blades so that the top blade is 1/32" back from and is parallel tothe front edge of teh bottom blade. The blades should also be even on e ach side. Tighten screws firmly.

BLADE SHARPENING: Oster cutting blades are of individual hollow-ground design, hardened to extend cutting life. As with any cutting instrument, the cutting edge will become dull with usage. Increasing blade tension to force dull blades to cut can cause the clipper to heat and reduce motor life, and further shorten blade life. When the cutting blades no longer cut smooth and clean, sharpening is necessary. When sharpening blades becomes necessary, send blades to an authorized service center where approved methods, equipment and proper knowledge are used to restore the original hollow-ground design and best cutting ability. Sharpening blades by the flate grinding or any method contrary to the design and construction of Oster cutting blades is not recommended.

LUBRICATING THE BLADES: A light film of oil should be maintained on the suraface of teh cutting blades. Oiling the blades frequently while in use will help keep the blades cleaner. Clean blades cut better. To clean blades, dip the teeth into oster cleaning solution cleaner with the clipper running. DO NOT IMMERSE THE CLIPPER. Remove from the mixture and, while holding the clipper with the blade end down, wipe the blades dry with a clean, dry cloth. Re-oil blades.
